From Wild Mind to Experience: Writing in All Directions - with Lauren Camp

This workshop offers inspiration in all genres — fiction, memoir, poetry. We’ll read, discuss and write, using unconventional prompts and exercises. We’ll build listening skills, word banks and approaches, always searching to understand and capture emotion, and finding alternatives to traditional ways of phrasing.  Lauren teaches this class in Santa Fe and is coming to  Albuquerque especially for Jules' Poetry Playhouse writers!

Lauren Camp is the author of three books. Her most recent collection, One Hundred Hungers, won the Dorset Prize and was a finalist for the Arab American Book Award, the Sheila Margaret Motton Book Prize, and the Housatonic Book Award. Her poems have appeared in Poetry International, Ecotone, Boston Review, Beloit Poetry Journal and the Poem-a-Day series from The Academy of American Poets. She lives and teaches in northern New Mexico.

$75 for the workshop (3 hours)
