New Mexico poet and woodworker Raymond Johnson grew up in Milwaukee during the Fifties and Sixties and earned his BA in Romantic Languages from the University of Wisconsin. In the early eighties, he moved to Albuquerque via NYC. For many years, Johnson taught in the Albuquerque Public Schools at the mid-school level. A life-long gardener, outdoorsman, craftsman, and furniture maker, Johnson has been writing poetry for over fifty years, and is the author of Swoosh of Heron Wings (Duende Press, Placitas, NM, 2017). He brings to realization the harvest of his lyrical search for deeper meaning and the simple revelations offered through an intensive exploration of his experience. Raymond now lives within the city of Rio Rancho on the escarpments overlooking the Rio Grande valley.
